Knives for Women...Suggestions Please!

Ok, so I used a BK7 today for the first time. Can't say I liked it. It worked fine, but the handle is huge! Way to big for my hands. Used a RAT3 too, and it is great! I love it! But don't think it would be my tool of choice for chopping. Looking for a good machete type knife, long heavy blade, full tang, but with a small handle. Any suggestions?? Maybe a RAT5 or 6. Anybody got experience with these? How big are the handles? Are there any bushcrafting women reading this? Would love to hear from you!
Thanks in advance.

  2. You know, I have to apologize, I have no idea what bushcrafting is, or what kind of knives you are looking for! I'm sorry! I'd love to see pics and hear about it though!

  4. Hi, I saw your comment on Dave Canterbury's page... I suggest a Mora (of Sweden) for general outdoor and camp work by anyone (man and woman) .. My wife was instantly attracted to a #2 I had in my camp chuckbox and she confiscated it from me.. I bought her another too (a # 840 Stainless version).. Check out Ben's Backwoods on Ebay or at his site.. Swedish knives are great. all round knives. They are amazingly inexpensive, sharp and durable - so you can afford to have them stashed around and handy enough to be always at your side (or around your neck).. Watch Dave's videos to see him using a Mora. Nice Blog.. Take Care , ShoreScout

  5. Thanks ShoreScout. I do think I saw the video(s) where he reviewed the mora knives. It must have slipped my mind. I've got my heart set on a Blind Horse Patch Knife, and a RAT3. My only other knife I want is a machete type knife. Hokala pointed out to me that if it's a long blade with a short handle, it's going to be hard to control, unless the blade is thin, so that made my change my course a little bit. Ryan found the most awesome one the other day. Can't remember who makes it, he'll know. It's made to look sort of like a sword, but i think it had a serrated blade on one side. The guy doing the demo chopped down 2 Big trees, and then proceeded to slice through paper like it was butter. That would work perfect for where we are (swamplands in the deep south). I will most certainly check out the mora's. Thanks for reminding me about that. And thanks for reading!!
